A few weeks ago I made this post on my Instagram comparing white potatoes with sweet potatoes. Turns out, they're not so different and both have benefits making them worth including in your food plan. But, in my experience, sweet potatoes have been hyped as a "superfood", and worth picking over white potatoes every time.
